As a solo female traveller I decided to create my own solo female travel blog, full of my own tried and tested tips and tricks.

Travelling has always been a passion of mine. I want to see the world, experience new places and different cultures. Not only does it open your eyes to how other people live but it draws you out of the monotony of day to day life. It makes you think. It makes you appreciate the simple things. Some of the best moments of my life have been abroad, with friends, with family, and even by myself.

MY TRAVEL PHILOSOPHY

As a solo female travel blogger this is something I have given a lot of thought. My opinion is that travel is good for you, healthy for the soul, as cringe as that sounds.

There’s nothing more exhilarating than standing on a white beach with the sand between your toes. Or hiking to the top of the highest mountain and breathing in a spectacular view of a foreign land. Immersing yourself in the culture of a new city, or exploring far off corners of the world. Is there any better feeling in the world?

"I want to snorkel in the Caribbean, see the Northern Lights with my own eyes and visit the pyramids. It's on my bucket list to take a helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon. I want to learn to ski in the French Alps, eat spaghetti in Rome and climb Machu Picchu. I want to do everything I physically can."

“So Why A Travel Blog?”

Starting out there are always so many questions, especially when travelling alone – where to go, what to see, what to pack, how to get from A to B, what currency do I need, how do I travel on a budget – the list goes on.

As a solo female traveller I like to think I’ve learnt a thing or two, so hopefully I can answer some of those questions for you, and share some interesting stories along the way. Thus, The Travel Journal was born. A purpose built travel blog, intended to help other solo female travellers.

So read on for some useful tips and tricks for travelling the world, holidaying at home and overseas. I want to help you travel more and travel better.
